I have taken the time to work my way through the intro video. I am finding that the information that I'm creating as part of the exercise is not being saved in the sim.

The apps (different levels of the Task app) seem to work fine, they just don't save.

I know I can save with CoreData (next on the list). I just would like a reality check - is this expected or have I overlooked something?

Are you talking about non Core Data applications here? For non Core Data applications, you'll have to persist your objects manually (via archieving for example).
